Financial services giant Deutsche Bank is foreclosing on the South Florida home of professional football wide receiver Santana Moss. Representing a mortgage-backed securities trust, Deutsche Bank claims that Moss has not kept up on his mortgage payments. Moss took out a $3.64 million home loan in 2006.

The foreclosure could seem surprising because Moss recently signed a $15 million contract that also included a $5 million signing bonus. Still, the player's home has already appeared on real estate listing websites. Zillow.com currently lists the home, which Moss bought for $5.2 million, as for sale at $2.3 million.

While he currently plays for the Washington Redskins, South Florida football fans will remembers Moss' days of playing on the University of Miami Hurricanes football team. He purchased the 9,304-square-foot home in 2006 after several successful years of NFL play. According to county records, Moss still keeps the home in good condition, suggesting that it serves as his primary residence.

Moss may be facing additional financial problems, as well. He is currently the target of a $258,017 tax lien filed by the Internal Revenue Service. The IRS filed the lean in Broward County Circuit Court in November 2011 after it discovered an issue with Moss' 2006 income taxes. Attempts to reach Moss and his Miami-based agent for comment on foreclosure and tax issues have been unsuccessful.

Troubles with foreclosure can affect anyone, even the wealthy who seem like they can afford anything they want. Moss may be experiencing some other financial troubles that people don't know about. If he wants to keep his home, there are options available to him, such as negotiating a mortgage modification with his lender.
